This hasn’t been getting a lot of national attention but it’s a real crisis up here. There’s been a driving ban since Friday morning and many people have froze to death. Elderly people on ventilators and young children have been stuck in homes with no power. Cars are abandoned on roads and highways and people are freezing to death in their vehicles trying to make it to safety. The government suspended all emergency services due to overwhelming requests, causing looting to break out throughout the city. The storm is over but people are still left without power and the driving ban remains. There is simply too much snow to plow. The snow needs to be transported via dump trucks to a completely different location, which can take up to 2 days per street. Crazy thing is the weather is supposed to be 50 degrees this coming weekend

  • Smh.

  • crazy week for sure

  • AP was saying they brought out the state military police to enforce the no driving rule cuz everyone kept driving anyway smh

RIP to the victims. These type of extreme conditions are only going to become more common if we don’t do something soon

  • Driving ban in America must be hell even worse in these conditions. Prayers up

17 found outside is sad as hell

Can't imagine being homeless through something like this

RIP to those people man. A gym that I go to unfortunately has Fox News hovering over the trendmills on each side. I seen a segment of those f***ers covering a gas station that got looted instead of all the people that died. Like what?!

One of the biggest mistakes environmentalists made early on was referring to it as global warming as opposed to climate change

The planet is objectively warming, but that results in increased extreme weather of all kinds. Instead of saying climate change from the jump we opened the door for morons like this to say “durrr see it’s not getting warmer”

I don't think scientists have morons in mind when conducting research.
