Jul 4, 2020When 69 blew up with GUMMO, people we're clowning him on IG because of his rainbow hair and 69 tats and no one took him seriously as a street dude.
His whole aesthetic was unique but the thing that made him poppin for a whole year was his gang ties & his antics on social media.
Everyone tuned in whenever 6ix9ine was mentioned in the news, lots of rappers dissed him and he tried hard to be street by sending hits and talking s*** to every rapper on his IG live.
His music was hard as well, but it wouldn't have gone far without the fake persona.
Post-snitching, GOOBA made waves but only lasted a week, his IG live was poppin' but his record got broken later on. Nobody cares about his snitch persona, English & Spanish rappers don't want to collab with him (besides Nicki) and overall his music doesn't last long even in this microwave rap climate.
His next album will do numbers but I doubt he'll stay relevant after that.
