Was listening to Precious Things for the 5th time, great song as usual and Lupe was only spitting fire on the mic. Here's where thing got interesting, when I got to this line:

I asked for "Okays", I got, "Up, yours" and "Go aways"

It now hit me, now might be reaching, but in America thumbs up usually indicates "Ok" or indication of approval. What's interesting is in countries like Iran, the same gesture means "fuck you" or "piss off", basically the equivalent to middle finger here.

Yeah the whole verses are hand related wordplay including gestures like that

That’s interesting to think about, though I’m not sure there’s any point in the song that would contextualize Lupe being in another country

I think the line is mainly just describing the lack of control he has with his hands
