- This is a thread for people that are into or might want to get into anime but want to avoid the cliche stuff or the downright weird s*** & the simplistic. Also its in Life sxn as well to reach more general people & introduce them to something.

• I personally got introduced to anime through Toonami of the early 2000s as a lil kid, so shows like DBZ or Naruto Shippuden and even more modern like Hunter X Hunter Im a big fan of. But those kind of shows such as DBZ among other types are not going to be the focus of this thread. There are plenty of other places to go to for those types. Also as I get older I am also getting pickier, so this thread is also for me as much as you.

I hope the thread brings more people into anime or exposes them to more. Outside of the spikey hair kids, the overly sexual for no point, every character is a teen or child (which is still allowed but we're also exposing more than that) & the general mainstream stereotypes

We dont want the bodypillow & statue shows nor the Natuto running I got a Funko Pop types. Also we dont care if the manga is better - this is not book sxn.

AND PLEASE, post your own reccomendations! If youre new or barely into anime, post what youre looking for thats releated to the thread! And if you try something out & happen to like or not like it, let us know! Lets make this a community, a group effort for us growing bodies that are looking for something a bit more. Shows old or modern!

- Thread Rules/Guidelines (these are for people already familiar with Anime that know what Im talking about & also to those less familiar or not at all to know what Im/we are trying to overall avoid aka the simple & the stereotypes):

• 1. No fanservice (overly sexual with no point besides eye candy to the viewer) anime.

• 2. No "uwu" (cutesy & kiddie anime that usually involves, but not always, questionably aged very young girls that are meant to be clumsy and "cute") anime.

• 3. No surface level or cliche "braindead" shoenn or shoenn-likes (DBZ, My Hero Academia, Naruto, One Piece etc.) animes. The only ones allowed that are straight up Shoenn stereotype branded shows are Yu Yu Hakusho, Jo Jo's Bizarre Adventure, Jujustsu Kaisen, Attack on Titan & Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, aka the height of Shoenn that also has something to it. Please note Shoenn is allowed, but "Shoenn Show" isnt besides the 5 I mentioned as of now. If youre into anime already you know what I mean & the stigma/stereotype/cliche/simplicity. But interesting/different shows that are under Shoenn such as Death Note & Dr. Stone are ok.

• 4. No literal for kids anime (Pokemon, YuGiOh, Digimon, Beyblade and so on).

• 5. No Ecchi, Yandere, Waifu, Harem & the like anime (Ecchi is basically softcore p*** & yandere is a crazy obsessed girl with a boy who has psychotic tendencies while Harem is about being a pimp but also shy about it or some s*** with a squad of women).

• 6. And obviously no Hentai (cartoon p***).

There is no hard stop/no besides #s 2, 4 & 6. Like obviously a comedy show that involves 5 or 1 is ok or a show that uses it to advert expectations etc. Just please use caution & judgement of what I generally mean, especially you #5'ers Im watching u

I added One Punch Man to the op because i forgot it.

But to newer Anime users bewarned, to get the jokes of One Punch Man you have to familar with Anime already especially Shoenn Action. Its basically a parody of that gener/style. Its an Comedy but also Action anime.

The fights and Animation are top notch tho, but you'll be missing out on over half of the series and episodes if you "dont get it".
