The additional size and athleticism is all true but if the result is still similar because his busted shot and overall poor scoring profile then 1) he'll never be able to max out his best skill 2) if all he is is a solid starter that will be a strikeout on OKC's second to last best chance (this season is probably the last season they'll be gunning to be absolutely basement level and I don't think there's any combination of those assets that's gonna allow them to move up to a high level pick) to get that secondary creator that they're looking for in Giddey

Also that comparison might only work on one side of the ball because Rubio has always been a solid defender and more than that for a lot of his career, Giddey is a man without a country on that side of the ball right now so between that and the shooting/scoring problems

His shot woes are overstated. His percentages in the NBL are weighed down from an early slump. His form does need work tho and he might not ever have anything more than a set shot but that’s basically what Rubio got anyways 🤷‍♀️

Adding 5-6 inches to a lot of roleplayers take them into another tier regardless. So I wouldn’t be angry with a taller Rubio, 6 isnt exactly the best place in the draft

But we’ll see especially with his defense. More important we’ll see how he performs in comparison to the niggas that for picked after him
