Use an old android or buy a raspberry pi and run pihole on it at your router. You can blanket block thousands of ad domains for your entire network that way. Absolutely based s*** especially when you use it along with browser based ad blockers and whatnot

on desktop the browser ad blockers do yeah, on mobile i use vanced but u can't download that anymore. But there was a thread just a couple days ago about replacements for it so check that out

the reason pihole don't block YouTube ads like that is often the ad is served from the same domain as the video, so you end up blocking the ad plus the video
