One of my dad’s coworkers is gonna teach me the ins and outs of this and I wanted to know how difficult is it to get that first job without any prior experience/degree?
Feel like this type of work can put me in a good spot as far as work/life balance if I apply myself to learning.
Thoughts?

So really for majority of these companies once you get your foot in the door and have real-world experience that should be all you need to get into any other software developer positions.
Most companies are divided over whether or not you have coding in your interview process or not. I would say it would look better on you if you had coding to do as a part of your interview since you don't have the degree to show but you have the skills to.
junior level jobs no one cares about experience or degree just if ur good or not tbh should be fine as long as ur decent at c# :D

The second one is saying something about 3-5 years of experience
Should I just embellish the resume a bit?

Experience is often just a soft standard. Today I had the final interview for a job that required 3 years of experience, I only have 1 year. If you convince them you're the man for the job, you can land it. But you'll definitely want 1-2 years of experience before applying for a job that asks 3-5 years.

? They do care about degrees. That’s literally the only time they care about it.

You can still get hired without a cs degree but it’s gonna be a lot harder.
I’m a software engineer, don’t use C# but for entry level jobs you better grind that leetcode basically
Ngl it’s gonna be tough if you don’t have a degree. You have to show that you can actually program way more then people that do
That being said if you have someone experienced teaching you and take learning v seriously (akin to a full time job), you can probably get a pretty good job in 6-8 months

Yea. If you have like bootcamp experience or some personal projects to show. A lot of companies won’t even look at certain applications if they don’t meet a certain req.
Doesn’t even make it to the recruiter.

they dont over here lol
I did some modding in C# for GTA IV. I watched a few tutorials on it and got the hang of it really quickly, without having any coding background.
I'm not sure how that translates outside of that environment, and I'm sure I'm missing out on a lot of advanced concepts, but it feels like a simple and effective language
