Well experience
Sorry didn't read rest of OP I was only 2 years old. I'm sure it won't be too bad, why you getting them removed?

They’re swollen basically permanently and much more likely to keep getting infected

ears were sore due to the procedure for a couple of days, pain wasnt too bad due to the technique the surgeon used, though it made the stitching more prone to coming loose so i had to go get it cauterized when the left one gave.
i lost 8 lbs in ~2 weeks, expect a lot of liquids to get you by, i recommend getting the pedialyte otterpop popsicles since it has some electrolytes. be sure to elevate your head when you sleep

Yeah had the same problem as a baby apparently. Just looking up what they do and seems they're "germ fighters" no wonder my immune system shot Best wishes!

Lost 8 lbs??? Do I need to be drinking protein shakes during the recovery period
You couldn’t eat any solid foods in general over the 2~ weeks?

yeah lol, my total calorie count was low because of the required diet. i had bottles of ensure though i never used them. I'd speak to your surgeon specifically about their recommended diet, though I'd say protein shakes made thru powders (whey, casein, etc) might be a little too rough for the throat (pause) during the first few days
in the US, surgeons typically dont allow solid foods until a little later after the surgery, though in the UK their protocol iirc say their patients could eat bread. but again, consult your surgeon during your pre-op appointment.
the pedialyte otterpops are recommended because its cold and it soothed the throat (pause again), probably helps a bit with swelling?
also, my surgeon did not recommend any milk products because milk increases mucus production and irritates the throat more
your throat will be very sore lol but not painful
Unlimited ice cream
if ur doctor is an idiot or ur a literal preteen

yeah, your surgeon would be able to answer all of your questions. tbh, i think its one of the harder surgeries to recover from because you cant eat like how you normally do, and during recovery your body needs those nutrients lol, but dont let my words discourage you, youre young so youd be able to bounce back. i cant imagine having to do this in your 40s+
also, be sure to walk around every so often when youre recovering at home so you dont develop any blood clots by just laying around

Honestly I was like 8 I don’t remember s*** 🤣
