Any of you ever watch that movie Gleaming the Cube? Tony Hawk plays a minor role but he and Rodney Mullen also both did all of Christian Slater’s skate stunts.
Classic tweet
Goat. I've been binging his guest appearances on podcasts lately after i saw him on tigerbelly
I don’t know why but I can’t help but think of him during that Pharrell interview where that naked girl randomly brought him some water during the interview
Seeing this cutscene as a kid had me wanting to cop a 2002 Escalade to this day

Rodney Mullen is brilliant for sure. I recommend anyone remotely interested in skating to watch the following video:
Mullen's influence cannot be denied and shaped skating to what it is today.
One of the corniest things in skate culture is how much hell you’ll get for being “casual” for liking this man.
He’s a genuinely great guy and he put a lot of eyes on skating even if it was primarily through video game, it still raised interest. I never got to get good at skating the way I wanted to because at the time of me being a teenager it was kind of shunned within my setting. But he’s one of the main reasons I ever took an interest in the first place and why @ 30 I’m still trying to learn
One of the biggest pop and athletic icons from the late 90s to the mid and possibly even late 2000’s. Without him we wouldn’t have rail grinding which started with Sonic games. EVERY kid had at least a mild skating phase back then.
I think his name might have been universally up there with Mickey Mouse and Sonic at one point.
i remember one day, my mom told me she was taking me to demo out a military school because i was doing so bad in school and outside in the streets. we drove all the way to long island and i was pissed yelling the whole time
