This is kinda Netflix and international films/series in a nutshell tho tbh. I appreciate the range of stuff they have and they’re better than all of their competition at this but they never quite figured out marketing new Asian shows to audiences outside of some K-Dramas. Squid Game is an anomaly
Like this is a whole service which routinely has new stuff from China/Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Thailand, India etc and you only hear about a couple at best unless you dig

Sure, but I guess I'm just wondering how someone so critically lauded also falls under that umbrella. The lil K-soaps and s***, I get them not getting crazy marketed everywhere, but this is a pretty highly celebrated creative voice

It’s Netflix tho. The creative voices aren’t the biggest streamers on the platform. They only care about numbers and Kore-eda is amazing but not exactly a numbers person outside of Japan and South Korea markets.
You’re right tho Netflix did this foul regardless cus it was just dumped on us but i guess I’m also just desensitized cus it’s kinda my expectation from them. They are simultaneously the best international shows and horrible at promoting them.
