Medicare for all under bernie is not synonymous with the universal health care anywhere in Europe. It would call for a dramatic reduction in private insurance, almost eliminating it, whereas the other countries still have it. As far as most voters are concerned “Medicare for all who want it” is enough, and that’s what Biden and the other moderates are basically pushing for in the form of a public option. A lot of his social ideas like ending the cash bail, death penalty, and private prisons are also popular, so biden is co-opting them to seem less right wing. Most of the popular domestic policy (besides corporate ownership and nationalizations) that Bernie is pushing for is also on Biden’s platform now, whether he’ll actually do it if he becomes president is another story. But in the end, I would agree that Bernie has pushed the party to the left
