Comparing the hits, trends and popular music in general, do you prefer 2010-12 or 2020-22?
Early 20s for me.

Early 10s Hits Different For Me Personally, It's Probably Nostalgia But The Hits Seemed More Memorable

Interested to see how this decade plays out
Was heavy into indie s*** in 2010s so I avoided a lot of the bigger songs/artists
In retrospect a lot of fun music came out during that time but in terms of hits it wasn’t my favorite era

you talk hits and that's the first thing that comes to mind?
10s wasn't 808s and trap heavy yet. songs weren't as cookie cutter as now either. and I think the mainstream non-rap was slightly better back then
Pop radio has been horrendous for like 6-7 years now. Started going downhill after 2016.
Early 2010s pop was objectively great
Early 10s just was not a great era at all so 20s by default lol
Incredibly false especially in comparison to the 20's.
NIP, 6 Foot 7 Foot, Don't Like, HOWGH, and Swimming Pools alone are better than most hits of the 20's. That's not even touching on other genres.
Post pandemic pop charts are just the same 5 songs over and over except for the one week wonders that debut super high and then disappear a trace. 2020 was literally Blinding Lights against whatever new song dropped that week. The competition and variety from 2010-2012 was on a different level and that starts with the songwriting itself, which is all algorithm derived now.
FWIW I thought 2022 was the best year for music since 2016 so I'm not just hating to hate; mainstream pop and rap legit fell off.
