Depends your budget, C214 by AKG may be the best and AT2035 the cheaper alternative.

Okay that's a serious budget. Let me ask my friend which is "industry-standard" best.

What’s diff between Behringer and the rode

the behringer is a preamp that the rode mic needs

they may or may not have a version that just plugs right in with usb tho, idk

Usb mics are always gonna be inferior , Imma be real with you

sound treating the room where you record at will also be essential
    I recommend getting acoustic panels

Rode NT1-A is a good mic in a sound treated room, it also has a pop filter which works well
pair it up with an focusrite interface and its a good starter pack for recording

    get a nice dynamic mic

you won't need a pop filter with a dynamic mic

unless you're trying to sing really quiet and falsetto in which case you may want a condenser mic and pop filter.. also you could get a cloud lifter with a dynamic for falsetto vocals

it depends what your voice is like tho

USB mics are always worse than just using an AI also, your noise floor will be a lot higher cause the processing is happening on your computer not in an isolated box

  • i used to have the rode nt1 (black) with scarlett interface and it can definitely produce good results, but you just have to do more mixing or have better mixing skills

if you get this setup and want to upgrade in the future, id recommend upgrading the interface first, i upgraded my mic first and i saw a greater change when i upgraded the interface after

honestly if eventually you have money to spend and want to make good quality songs with not as much thoughtful mixing, the best home setup imo is an apollo interface with a $800+ mic
