So my closet it really dusty and overcrowded with s*** over the years that I haven't worn, and now I feel like it's worse with covid happening. So now I want to deep clean it all to get some cash and buy some good mid range pieces ($300-600) that I can collect over the rest of the year. Basically save space.
Already got the essentials down with basics and a good suit.
Anyone got any good starting pieces that I should look at to cop soon or to look for inspiration and branch out later?
Any style or aesthetic is welcome since I'm pretty open minded. More ecofriendly options please if I'm buying new.
What’s your style?
I think more streetwear influenced since I grew up with OF and Kanye. I also wear more workwear as well since I wear a lot of black chinos or black jeans with some Chelsea boots to work.

Go buy some Carhartt Michigan chore jackets

uniqlo for jeans, pants and basics. naked and famous/apc for raw at that 200-300 price for denim
if you want some accessories like jewelry check depop and etsy
$300-$600 is a decent range imo, thats pretty much my buying range atm. It kind of depends where you want your style to go but you wont have trouble finding good and high quality pieces here from brands like acne studios or our legacy (e.g. designer brands which aren't considered luxury).
You can also find probably older second hand pieces from bigger designers such as yohji (probably wont suit your style but just an indication of price range)
edit: if you meant $300-$600 for entire wardrobe ignore my post

no yea im planing to build a lil designer capsule that have some pieces bought 300-600 each. I don't think i want to go over 1k in value though lol. Not trying to flex like I didn't save up for my outfits

300-600 per item can get you a very long way. engineered garments (outerwear), stussy (shirts, fleeces), carhartt wip (pants, outerwear), acne (jeans, sweaters), our legacy (elevated 'basics'), needles (casualwear, cardigans), are all great options.
you can get damn near every brand at that price point if you're smart about it
idk i made this thread cause i was overwhelmed seeing some youtubers capsule building collections where all his s***s was 800 and up for any piece from boots to outerwear.

A lot of them don't really care and will pay full price for anything, or they're just straight up fakes. My rule is unless you know it isn't going to hit sales, just wait it out. Also second hand is a great way to get quality items in a sustainable manner. Hit the thrifts or peep the various online outlets (Grailed, ebay INSTAGRAM!!!!, depop etc) and you can find some insane deals

at 12 min mark he was talking about these boots that expensive as hell. Funny enough he talked about carhart next minute, but I exited the moment I googled the boot price points lol
Imo invest in a couple outerwear pieces that you really like first and obviously footwear if you currently dont have it. If you like vintage and workwear then thats fine and you can spend less on it.
Then move on to getting knitwear, high quality denim or pants. Personally covered the outerwear step for most part for me (other ones I want are outside my price range, i.e. biker jacket, silk bomber, etc. ) and am good for shoes atm. Mostly after pants rn

I still need to acquire some nice denim and pants. I've pretty much covered the low end already. Need some apc, d02s and rick denim
