I thought it was good but I think the reason it didnt hit w the public like her last album was that she tried to mature and switch aesthetics too fast. This shouldve been like a 3-4 years down the road type of album

From the outside in, the way she shifted her aesthetic kinda had it coming. She rode that quirky, excited tiktok esque wave to start and then stopped on dime and reversed. Havent listened to the music tho just a passerbys perspective

i never listened to her first album but I listened to Happier than Ever for the first time 2 weeks ago and it was a lot better than I expected

she switched her sound entirely, the singles were flops and bad choices, the album is very subtle which is the complete opposite of her debut and O-rod took the lane

she just didn't really have that smash hit-type song on the album like Bad Guy

All it was really missing was the big hit song like Bad Guy. And even that was her only legit smash from her debut. That hype was kinda aided by people outside of her fanbase being forced finally to know who she is. I remember KTT even being caught late on her oddly

Wasn’t really that much of a downgrade imo and I like the album better than her first. Her shows been bigger than ever and she’s a solidified headliner now.

She’ll find a good mix for the 3rd not much to worry about yet.
