If you only got to chapter 4 I'd give it another go. First 6 or 7 chapters are basically there to learn the character but the action picks up when he meets the old guy and then even more so like chapter 11 on

finished chapter 11 today. i'm liking it so far. usually not a huge fan of tangential writers but I think Kaufman toes the line well and doesn't let his entertaining ramblings go on too long. it'll be interesting to see where the story goes from here

OP and other people reading, where are y'all at? I just finished chapter 32 and I'm losing interest a bit...

I'm also at 32, was just away camping with friends for a couple days but hype to pick it up again tbh. The stretch from about 150 to about 200 I also thought it's getting a bit weaker, felt like kinda overindulgent misery p***, but now with the hypnotist therapy sessions I thought it was getting more interesting and trippier again overall still really enjoying it
