I said f*** it and bought this thing, starting it after I finish this spirituality joint and Imperial Bedrooms
Page 255. Starting to pick up again. If I can finish this I'll def feel confident enough to read Catch-22 and Infinite Jest
Wow. Just finished after 5 days
Worth reading? Big fan of kaufman's screenwriting but I don't know how well that would translate to novels

It's like an episode of Louie, in the best way possible.
Hoping I'll be able to finish this this week, been on page 600 but got interrupted by uni work which resulted in a bit of a reading slump.
I was loving it even more than before when I was interrupted, hope it wraps up nicely

Honestly this isn't really comparable to Infinite Jest, you have really neat tidy little digestable chapters here, most chapters are like straight up comedy sketches and the language is fairly straightforward.
I highly recommend IJ it's my favorite book but you should be warned that it's far more experimental and frustrating (even intentionally so). That said Kaufman is clearly influenced by DFW, more by his essays than his fiction probably, though I can mayybe see some parallels with the soft sci-fi aspects in both works.
This book is ridiculous, indulgent, too much. But wow, it’s giving me gut laughs at every turn. Such a good time. Highly recommend.
