Spider-man is one of the best comic characters ever. he stitches together the entire marvel universe by being the one of the only characters who does both street level, and mega avenger hero level stuff. Throw in your hottakes your thoughts and all your reasons why One More Day fundamentally ruins him down in the thread

awesome dude! yeah its such an amazing take on the character and it's nice to see spider-man act like an adult instead of constantly being late for everything etc.

i think thats the "happy birthday" one?

when he goes with strange back in time?shit was phenomenal and surprisingly even tho its a comic the whole series has a really sombre tone and some very interesting introspective stuff about life

ahhhhhh yeah dude its so good. He's just repeating fight to himself as he goes through all his battles. Def so good. I wont lie to you this run got mangled by marvel's editor in chief at the time so the end isn't great, but if you need any more recs just hit me up, or follow me and dm me!

I'm going through the reddit guide from the spider-man wiki, and for this run they specifically said that One More Day and Sins Past are awful and that I shouldn't read them,so I skipped them tbh.

Do you have a fav run aside from this one that I should delve in next?

yeah one more day and sins past just got wrecked because this was around the time marvel was going all in on the start of the mcu. and editorial thought that the changes jms was trying to make wouldn't be marketable for the character

for spider-man the other greatest run that comes to mind is Ultimate Spider-man (2000) from Brian-Michael Bendis its a lot longer and kind of the opposite of the spectrum where Spider-man is a teenager and just got his powers but the story is his entire life as spider-man and has the same level of heart as the jms one

The synopsis for Brand New Day looks pretty interesting to me as well(#546 and ends with #647).
What do you think of this one?

im gonna check out the Bendis one,its kinda overwhelming because there are a bunch of reading lists tho

brand new day has hits forsure!

not personally a fan of big time that comes after but thats just personal ive read that others really like it

the bendis one honestly only read the first 120 issues it falls off after that. Ultimate marvel was a whole thing. You'll see that with comics in the 2000's marvel was shifting to being purchased by disney so a lot of the darker weirder series got phased out near the 2010s

That seems so out of character

2010 comics are exclusively about learning to become a dad or 40 year old writers making characters desperately claw at memes for relevancy
