I've been on a similar wave lately regarding technology and the internet so it's interesting to see him drop this. I think it's beautiful and he really shines a light on the insidious nature of technology right now.

I think the combination of consumer culture vilifying imperfection plus the increasing hardships most first world people face as their dreams are shattered by economic instability and a pandemic have all turned us towards our phones and people who are more well off than us

resonates with me in that my brain is always seeking stimulation so ill often f*** around online but ultimately rarely anything I come across online is committed to long memory nodes unlike real world events or reading book. --- so when people say they have bad memories i immediately ask how much time they spend online
