In a time where one flop drains all your hype and big releases come and go all the time, do you think he still could've transitioned to popstar?
Mind you Kissland had zero hits, whatsoever.
if anything it's easier than ever to recover from a flop in today's climate since all it really takes is a song blowing up on social media to regain your hype. people said dababy was finished bc everyone hated blame it on baby and it sold less than kirk, but he got a seven week #1 song off that album.
I don’t know
But I do know one thing though
Kiss Land is a goated 10/10 classic

But we also seen a lot of artists have the public completely turn on them after a hyped release flops. Like Trippie Redd, the Migos members, or Chance The Rapper, who inspired this thread cuz it's kinda drastic to see his perception go from good guy Chance with the religious raps to cringy ass tik tok tier kiddy Rapper.
You can drop a trash album in the streaming era then come back with a deluxe with one snippet people wanted and they wouldn’t care
He might have dropped Baddest B**** if it were the streaming era smh
F*** all of you for bullying him out of that song
This album seems to be overrated on here, s*** was ass imo
Need to relisten, it grows on you
Kissland is too cinematic for the streaming era tbh it would have needed its own moment in some weird way a lá Blonde
But his actual bounce back from kiss land had hills and can’t feel my face that were big streaming hits so yeah he would’ve bounced back
Probably a big can’t feel my face tiktok trend too

weeknd albums meet all the criteria of ktt core

That came two years later though. I think Often is catchy enough to regain the publics attention (and it would be even BIGGER now that trap is the go to) but nowadays I wonder if the label would've still kept enough faith in him to get him on the 50 shades soundtrack and that Ari song.

What Trippie release flopped
Cuz if you talking “!” He literally bounced back with ALLTY4 and had the most sales he has ever had so how did ppl turn on him

one of the greatest albums of all time

chance and migos' current perception has more to do with the quality of their music and their actions, not their projects flopping. i guarantee if either of them dropped a good project again everyone would be on their d***

But all the singles from that album flopped, and this anecdotal but now whenever I see him posted (whether its Instagram, Twitter, Reddit etc) the comments just talk about how he fell off. Maybe it was popular amongst his fans but that album doesn't seem to have had much commercial impact.
