Lately I've been trying to jump back into creative activities, having abandoned most of them since I was an early teen. Having much more experience in life, these activities feel much heavier to me now, and I've realized, a few figures (both real and fictional) have impacted me deeply and influenced my interests and form of expression. It's an interesting feeling that I'd like to chase.
Anyone have any stories and experience with this kind of influence? Please share.
muse - a person or personified force who is the source of inspiration for a creative artist.

Self love, I love it
Due to the quarantine, I've kinda had some time to get back into beat making. Probably Kanye to be honest, even though I clown on him and his music now, he was the main reason I started learning how to produce. Live.Love.A$AP as well, I'd love to make a product (production wise) as half as good as this.

Usually it's the artist I'm most obsessed with. Ride now I'm on The Weeknd wave. I've never really had the experience of a person I know IRL being my source of inspiration. One event that's been influencing my writing lately though is the experience of working a corporate 9 - 5. All the problems I had with the people and the culture. Writing about it has helped me come to terms with that way of life.

I don't have one direct person or thing. Creativity just strikes. Not even trying to sound pompous but I think the idea of having a muse in order to enter a creative state is a beginner level mindset. We all start out being inspired by a particular person but as time goes on you find your on style creativity/ideas literally just comes to you.
disabled people. I only feel jesus energy when i'm around them. I want to put them on like no one has before. exploring different avenues here.

I get what you’re saying, but I’m not speaking inspiration in terms of “copying” i’m talking about emotional impact. Something that hits you in a place, out of your control, that influences not what you create, but drives you to create. Something that takes you to new places, that you just follow and see where you end up. I wasn’t looking for inspiration to create, but inspiration found me and I’m just along for the ride.
In my opinion and experience you can have this and maintain complete individuality
