Or did he finish 1 project first then move on to the next?

Wiki says both was recorded from 2013-2016

Crazy how he made 2 classics during the same time frame that sounds completely different.

He was probably just making music then realized he had two albums worth (if not more) of amazing songs, then decided which songs go where & on which album

Ivy and Seigfriend had drafts as early as 2013, he worked on Nikes as early as 2015, and a draft of Nights was recorded in 2016

It’s inevitable that his work overlapped but how he divided his work between the projects is a mystery. I don’t even know if we have any info on the recording process for any of the material on endless outside of the credits

nah imo, the albums are way more thought out than picking one for each. If he did do that, he probably did it for 3-4 songs he already had in 2014-15 and then worked on from there

I think it’s more than “he was just making music” being both albums sonically sound very different.

Because he said for Blonde he was going for a more Beatles/Beachboy sound (opposed to Channel Orange being more Stevie)......so the sound was calculated

If both albums sounded the same I’d agree.

Word yeah he even performed some of them songs back in 2013 too (not sure if you was referring to that as well)

I have no idea about Endless tho besides Wiki saying 2013-2016

Oh yeah I forgot about that. The only thing that makes me believe he had a 3rd project is the songs “Alabama” and “Florida” so maybe he had a full concept project with each song title as a state and ended up scrapping it but keeping a few songs that he put on Endless

I’m pretty sure Endless was mostly after and worked on for a much smaller amount of time (obviously). I remember talking about it on KTT on release. But now i can’t find anything so maybe i made it up

My guess is most of Blonde was recorded between 2013-2015, with a few new songs like Nights recorded and fine tuning done between 2015-2016.

Endless I would say was probably done from 2015-2016. Seems like that project probably came out of a spontaneous moment of creativity, whereas Blonde was the one that was meticulously planned for ages.

I'd say there was a lot of overlap in 2015, but he definitely started working on Blonde way earlier
