Sounds like both are using simple half step up, whole step down motion unless I’m missing something more.

Sorry this should say half step up, minor third down.
Both melodies start on the note A, move up to Bb, down to G then back up to A to repeat

Googoosh is a good start for sure
also it's f*** JT but that's a rudimentary melody and probably been recreated unknowingly countless times, you'd never win that argument in court

The groove, tempo, “I’m just a sexy boy = I’m bringing Sexyback ” having the same syllables/rhythm/falling on the same beat as the opening line of each respective hook (not to mention the similarity between the titles), talky flow and key
Yes I woke up to you making fun of my Reddit username
ok that one u deserve
gotta stay anon on reddit !
The similarity between the song in OP and Sexyback is a two note bass line going from the minor root up to a semitone each bar, both in the key of A minor. But they have two completely different rhythms
It miiiiiiggght just be a coincidence cause it’s such a small similarity, but I can see why OP thinks it could be intentional given all the Easten music samples of the 2000s
