in my opinion i think they will...especially in the United States. given the current economic climate and nostalgia for 2000s pop culture, i can see it happening within the next couple of years.

im not saying CDs will become the predominant format, but more like an alternative to streaming just like vinyl

i've been in a CD mood lately and it's crazy how many albums i can buy with such little money...5 or so CDs are just as much or probably less than the standard price for vinyl (around $25 - $30)

I hope so, but I doubt it, because people don't care enough about CDs like they do Vinyls, and it's crazy because you can do so much more with a CD digitally

I mean these gen z niggas been on the 2000s d*** heavy recently, so maybe they’ll think cds is retro 4 years from now..

CDs are dead. When I got Thriller 40 last week it really hit me how long it’s been since I last bought one.

But, waiting for Amazon to deliver on release day, look through the album art etc is a feeling you can’t beat.

collecting vinyl makes more sense 2 me tho

better quality & bigger album art

i miss cds as well tho, reading thru the liner notes was the s*** back in the day

oh yeah for sure, vinyl is much better quality imo for the overall experience

A good way to make people buy cds would be to put download codes for the music in all CD packages so that way theres no problem with not having a CD player anymore and u still get to own a cool item

  • Nov 21, 2022

    i'll say this

in 4-5 years now, the current generation of kids will start having weird nostalgia for mid-late 2000s indie aesthetics...500 Days of Summer, Arcade Fire, Radiohead kinda s*** idk. we're already seeing it with current bands embracing it in their music

if nu metal and all that s*** can come back, then i dont see how this wont happen

  • Nov 21, 2022

i hope not, sold a ton of them last year

  • Nov 21, 2022

I feel CDs will make a comeback maybe things are fully digital, and pop artists come with innovative waves to push out CDs, but besides that, no for now.

vinyls are way cooler and serve as decorative artpieces more than cd cases

also vinyls outsold cds for the first time since the introduction of cds a year or 2 ago

  • Nov 21, 2022

Forget about that s*** let’s progress
