like what happens when every single possible beat pattern and combination has already been thought of and used

and every single sound has been sampled in every way possible

    what will we do

Considering the fact that the biggest rappers in the world are literally just covering hit songs with rap drums and a few bars I think we’re already there

  • We'll do something else.

But that situation is highly unlikely tbh.

Thats the beauty of hip hop
U can rap on any music

  • Jan 24, 2023

    No.

We'll just keep evolving and everyone will continue to copy.

Rappers will just link up with Afrobeat producers and spit bars on those beats.

  • Jan 24, 2023

I saw this video that scientifically explained that, even in a world without sampling, we would never run out of “new music” or it would take like, trillions of years or something, and we actually do have sampling to boot, so we good bruh

  • Jan 24, 2023

No. Hiphop is so infinitely malleable from a production standpoint cause it’s fundamentally a few basic traits:

    • slow to midtempo grooves with syncopated kick patterns
    • punchy drum sounds
    • harmonic sections sampled from or based in funk/soul/ambient

You can never run out of new styles with this foundation. The problem really lies in “would there be motive for regions to keep making their new sounds now that the internet has killed the importance of regions?”
