I've tried this and I end up zoning in on just one book eventually

    That’s what I do.

I truly respect people who can juggle multiple books at once but I cannot do that s*** lol i’ve tried & it feels so wrong

When I was a kid I could have a stack of 3-4 books on my desk at a time and keep up with all of them, but now trying to read multiple books at once is the easiest way to stop reading both of them. I played with the idea of reading a novel at the same time as something nonfiction, but I just can't divide my attention effectively like that.

I was forced to do that as a child with that Scholastic Reading Counts! program where you had to read multiple books on a point system for a grade.

Bruh I literally read the most books in the district and got to be principal for a day in 4th grade. I now can’t keep focus long enough to read a page of a book.

I feel like I was too old for bionicles but my friend who's 3 weeks older had a bunch?

  • Jan 4, 2022

yeah don't care about finishing books

I was a kid lol it was actually me and this 5th grader who both got it. They let us be in his office and we got to be with him during a presentation. Also I vaguely remember sitting through a meeting he had. It was kind of boring but as a kid not being in class most of the day was cool. My parents were proud and at the time I wanted to be a physician. Funny enough I’m a nurse now cause I hate school lol

I’ve been doing 1 fiction and 1 non-fiction/self help. It feels good so if I feel burnt out on one book but still want to feel productive and read I can go to the other. I need the books to be completely different though. I’d never read like 2 fiction books at the same time because I feel like that’d mess with the immersion and I’d get things mixed up.

I cannot I just read one at a time

  • Sep 15, 2022

currently doing this, slow but when you reach the end of both is a strange... satisfaction

    Rarely.

Only time I do this is a non fiction and a fiction book at the same time.

Reading 2 fiction books at the same time is not my thing.

  • I’ll usually read a fiction and non fiction book together if their content is dissimilar.

tried it. doesn't work for me

  • Nah, I focus on one. I watch television, movies, read articles, and watch video essays of the topic of which I'm reading though.

    BECOME THE BOOK.

Yes I barely get interested enough in a book to keep my attention from other things I want to read, especially with non fiction which I really can only read in chunks
