  • Like Maybe someone can explain this to me...

I don’t understand why people like Charlamagne say things like the only way they’ll vote for Biden is if he “has a black woman as VP”.

what if that selection isn’t as qualified, as let’s say, a black man or Asian woman, or white woman, or whatever?

Why is that the only determining factor for some people? That seems quite irresponsible, and quite immature to only accept a candidate if they have someone of a particular background.

Now I’M NOT SAYING the perferred choice of people like CThaGod wouldn’t be as qualified as someone else, but why limit yourself to that one choice only???

Personally, I would like Yang as VP, but I’m open to all choices.

I’m just interested to see why people would agree with a stance of only accepting Biden if he has someone with a certain race and gender combo as his running mate. Seems stupid to me.

  • POC representation is def needed but s*** shouldn't be forced

POC representation is def needed but s*** shouldn't be forced

Exactly, that’s kind of what I’m getting at.

If it’s forced, it’s not authentic, and just pandering, and may not even have the outcome these people expect

It’s irresponsible of Charlamagne to say things like that

    incoming pointless discussion

It’s not pointless if a view like that will affect the next 4 years

Well already have one unqualified person (Biden), why not just push for a qualified VP, no matter the race/gender. Seems like a more effective way to get results.

its a issue when people don't listen to these candidates politics and think just because they are not white they will be good in office

Charlamagne dumb as hell too so there is that

Well clearly Biden's team have identified the demographic they feel can be reached by having a female VP is valuable enough to them. Not much else to it

It does not mean they are unqualified.

    Yeah but that’s irresponsible.

It’s all pandering. I don’t get how voters don’t see that all the democrats to is pandering. They don’t actually care.

    Their undercover stance is literally

“Let’s just give them what they want, that’ll secure us the vote and shut them up”

And then they don’t do anything effective because they back themselves into a corner unauthorized unqualified people

Right, it’s so frustrating. All it does it help out the other side

Well pandering's not quite the way to correct way to put it. Its politics, its a machine with many people behind the scenes a***ysing key data.

You've got to aim to win votes. And you need strategy to do that.
You can easily find exit poll information as well as data on voters vs non voters and see who you need to go out and campaign to get.

And to pin this as just a Democrat thing is unfair. Pence is VP for a very specific reason - he caters to the Evangelical Christian base, something Trump was struggling with given his scandals, family relationships, and his reality tv image.

    Good points.

I can understand strategy and the need to win votes, But maybe that’s evident of a bigger issue with American politics then.

I always thought the two party system was outdated, but at the same time I don’t know what a better option would be and still have it somewhat organized.

Having said that, I still think it’s irresponsible to focus on one race or gender, when there may be a more qualified candidate elsewhere.

American people should focus on the content inside the book rather than the cover, but unfortunately, many don’t do that

It's not just an America-centric problem. There's undoubtedly a sweeping rhetoric shunning intellectualism and driving political dissonance in the West. Many people are simply uninformed and establishments encourage that to ease their accountability.

  • The Dems and the left destroy themselves.

That what happens when you focus on identity politics. This is mostly a big problem with the left and why they will never win anything.

  • Politics is deeper than ben shapiro videos 🙏

  • thinking your community is better off because someone you identify with has a high position of power is a dumb mistake

Like it doesn't hurt, but it doesn't necessarily help either. Prime example being POC cops

  • im not even gunna read OP but im guessing your saying how corn it is for Biden to say "My VP is going to be a women" because if anything thats marginalizing them even more, Biden should of done a normal VP vetting process and ended up electing a women which woud of blew every SJWs head off when he finally revealed who, instead he's created these selfish voters who cannot be pleased by the fact hes only choosing a woman, but only be pleased if he picks the woman of THEIR choice, its over people, trump 4 more years just accept it, it doesnt matter who Biden picks as a VP at this point its just a pony show

  • This dude taking an L if he doesn’t pick Warren imo, her to be the first female president when he croaks
