Most items rarely bring that much extended happinesses. Some do, especially the most basic of things. Paying the water bill makes me pretty happy considering modern plumbing is absolutely based. for most of the last year, I’ve been a huge emotional spender. buying material things simply to distract myself from loneliness and sadness and it would help me feel better. it all caught up with me this year though

I lost my incredibly well-paying job back in Jan, went through two months of unemployment and struggling to pay my rent. I’m still in debt a couple thousand and in the process of getting my head back above water. it’s been a s***ty year so far but I can say these circumstances have inspired me to find other ways to numb my pain besides spending money on s*** so it’s nice to see that growth in myself
