Didn’t even bother reviewing monster. Once he started heating in the streets again they reviewed beast mode and onwards. But people really tossed him to the sidelines after honest. Bruh dropped a classic while everyone was sleeping. Legendary

Ehhhhh he was the underdog after Honest flopped mildly, still had some good street singles. I’d say “over him” is just a bit of a stretch. Rap culture is very unforgiving and Monster wouldn’t have popped the way it did if Honest was as irredeemable as it’s made out to be

  • Sometimes hard to believe i been listening to this nigga since 2010

Somehow always feels fresh and relevant

  • Can’t believe we really had a nerd era where suburban nerds checked on pitchfork lol

Even till this day some dweebs still care about critics

Also lotta other acts was coming up or steaming hot
He even had a ft back then with Kanye iirc

Was a transition from that backpack/conscious/real rap into the trap dominating era that started in 2015, which he was undoubtedly the face of

So maybe this switch from the blogs to the social media(Vine) being the "judges" of the music also helped this alot(Fetty Wap, RHQ, OG Maco...)

Honest deserves way more respect than it gets

Sucks when people ignore something great just because it’s more accessible than usual

He wasn't underrated dafuq? P4k just didn't review it, who really cares. For instance, Honest and Pluto got a lot of press hype. Tony Montana, Turn on the Lights, Move that Dope and I Won were hits
