I wish Genius ain't fall off so much. Used to be one of the few good places to get lyrics. Now the s*** hardly gets updated and lyrics for a lot of songs are so poorly put together you better off just guessing what the artists are saying

The website has always… and still just publishes community (and sometimes by the actual artist(a)) annotated lyrics. How has it changed?

So thats why i dont find Genius in the google searches for lycris. It used to be one of the top searches. Also the redesign is literally a dumbsterfire. I can't read the section for samples, interpolations etc. Everything cluttered in small text no pictures anymore no nice sectioned info. I hope they revert it. The Mobile app is still fine fortunatly.

Genius (formely Rapgenius) was one of the most important sites for people to discuss hip hop and eventually music in general. It really had artist post facts about their lycris in 2010s and it was super nice community back in the day. People are still reminiscing of those nice days. I still remember being all day on Rap Genius reading and listening to GKMC crying and really feeling that Album way more. Being on the Forums for recommendations. Also discussing it with my classmates and listening to that album on school trips and i would bring some knowledge in from Rapgenius.
To see the site sell out and going down like that is super sad to me. They could have been the music social media but they fumble it for some apple money.
