German transgender footballers have been granted new regulations allowing them to "independently" decide whether they should be granted the right to play for a women's or men's team.

In contrast with other sports tightening rules at elite levels, the DFB says trans and non-binary players can choose for themselves instead of being bound by personal identification data, such as birth certificates.

trans athletes should only be allowed in the league they identify with

a trans man is a man. if he identifies as a man, why should he be allowed in the womens league? or vice versa?

i don’t understand why this issue seems unsolvable.

male and female sports are split due to physical differences, not gender.

so ??

we should, overall, review the way s***and gender exists in society as a whole. things being split this way will never work in the future as we find an ever increasing amount of evidence that our ideas of s***are wrong

I don’t really agree with it because I believe that trans women have an advantage and trans men are at a disadvantage.

But I guess it’s good for trans identity and things like that
