his arc is literally not impressive, nor am i going to call it impressive just cause gaming plots in general aren't this good

just say you're easily impressed. Not a single part of this game or the 2018 game had a story that was so engaging and full of depth that it warrants "this is literal peak writing", especially one using a a basic template like these.

maybe read a book or watch more movies idk

Anyone that appreciates great storytelling is recognizing that what they’ve been able to do with Kratos is nothing short of remarkable

First of all, I do watch tons of movies/shows/story driven content, anyone that knows me knows that. I’m literally in the theater once a week at minimum.

Second of all, stories don’t have to be super complex equations of mental gymnastics and rocket science to be impressive. Sometimes less is more and sometimes simplicity is key. Some of the greatest stories ever told are pretty simple at their core, it’s the execution in how the themes are presented that matters.

And finally, I clearly reiterated multiple times it’s great storytelling in the context of GAMING. Gaming is not a medium that is known for having quality storytelling, and only in recent years have we started to see impressive narratives become more of the norm throughout the industry. I never said this was the greatest story ever told in any medium ever, but it’s up there amongst other games. I promise you you can’t name 10 games/game franchises with better told stories than God of War.

I don’t have “low ass standards” you’re just a completely stuck up pretentious douchebag who’s top stupid and stuck up his own ass to recognize that my praise of this writing is contextual to the medium it’s being presented in

literally just wait for another dev to copy paste a popular plot into a game with adequate voice acting. if you actually were watching all that other s*** it makes no sense to be stupid enough to say this writing is peak, within context or not
