Idk about game awards but I need a Nier 3 announcement soon
Still need to play these Neir games....seems like everybody keep hyping it up...shit better live up to its name
except even in the context of gaming it's not "i dont think this can be topped"
literally just wait for another dev to copy paste a popular plot into a game with adequate voice acting. if you actually were watching all that other s*** it makes no sense to be stupid enough to say this writing is peak, within context or not
They didn’t just copy and paste Norse mythology though.
They took the foundation and heavily remixed it to fit their franchise. If you think this is a 1:1 adaptation of the Norse stories I think you should read more Norse mythology

ye that's why i said retelling, i'm very aware kratos wasn't the greek god of war
i'm not saying it's dog s***, but it's not worth this level of praise, cause it's mad cookie cutter. I brought up the movies cause it was soundin like you never seen these plot devices before or some

No not with post game content. , but I did pretty much everything you could do before beating the story.

The problem is, you’re presenting it being “cookie cutter” as some sort of fact, when in reality most people who’ve played the game would heavily disagree with that statement
It definitely doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but for the story it’s trying to tell it’s not cookie cutter either

I think the thing is the actual story is pretty straightforward but its the writing of the characters, their development and the emotional payoff combined with the stellar voice acting that propels the game above others

Exactly. You get it
A good video game is supposed to give you autonomy and freedom to some degree (don’t mistake this for open world) not walk you through an on rails experience. If I wanted that I’d watch a movie or read a book
How do you feel about RDR2?
Better question is what is your most anticipated game or hopeful reveal at VGAs
Dead Space Remake Gameplay
RE4 Remake Gameplay
Hopefully a MGS3 Remake Reveal

How do you feel about RDR2?
I liked it
Think the long animations for everything you do are kinda annoying but they make sense
That nigga odin gives off the “nice on the outside but behind closed doors he’s mentally and physically abusive, manipulative, and a c***” type of vibe

I feel like RDR2 kinda gives you an illusion of freedom, but everything is very on the rails with Rockstar guiding your experience all the way. It actually felt like Westworld at times or a play where I'm a viewer watching characters' dialogue unfold rather than an active player. A lot of the game is basically cutscenes that Arthur just witnesses but they're not actually presented as cutscenes. Like the camp life for example. Towards the end, you talk to characters and then watch mfs go back and forth arguing while Arthur just stands there and maybe throws in a comment at the end
Random encounters like sucking the snake venom out of a guy's leg and then him buying you a gun, the horse kicking the guy in the face or the one where the guy's arm is injured and you take him to a doctor where it's sawed off lose their magic when you find out pretty much everyone else saw the same things
NakeyJakey's Rockstar's game design is outdated video kinda addresses what I'm speaking about. The gameplay is very much how Rockstar wants you to play, you aren't rewarded or encouraged to try anything else
Idk where I’m at story wise but s*** is finally getting interesting ngl i was bored a bit earlier in the game after that epic beginning but right now it’s chefs kiss
