If feels like everyone has people that plan our surprise parties or just people in general that plan to do something nice for them. Damn I wish that would happen to me even if it sounds selfish

I’ve never had or been to a surprise party in my life

I’ve had a surprise party but it wasn’t for a birthday kind of a going away party iirc

One time on my birthday my brother threw a football at me and hit me right in the nose it bled a tiny bit that freakin surprised me it hurt

Whenever someone throws a surprise party it’s just so huge and cinematic that everybody there wants to post about it and tell stories about it to everybody so I feel like they’re not actually as prevalent as you might expect with how much you hear about them.

Do you plan events or surprises for other people’s birthdays?

Yeah I have, usually I get asked to help out/be apart of one. I never headstart the ideas personally though.

I mean kinda, but a lot of people don’t really expect people to throw them parties. (I guess that’s the whole point but you get what I’m saying)

A lot of people wake up on their bdays and the thought of a surprise party hadn’t even crossed their mind so for people like that I’m sure it’s a nice surprise

Damn I’m sorry man, obviously not a nice feeling to have your actions not be reciprocated. I don’t want to just jump to conclusions but is there any way you’ve shown any signs or indications that you don’t like celebrating birthdays or having surprises?

It’s not selfish at all to want to those things tbh and i know it might be a hella awkward subject to bring up but it might not hurt to talk to your friends directly about this, they might just not realize what’s good
