i mean i ain’t acting like everything was all peachy before, but it really feels like social media has really divided us all and put a lot of racial extremes all out in the open. maybe it was just my dumbass, but i really thought, although again still far from perfect, things were getting better and we were making real progress. now i feel we’re at a point of no return in regards to race and s*** is only gonna get worse and worse. f*** this internet and this iphone that im typing this off of.
S*** was never getting better
Look at how people treated Muslims after 911....
Before social media there was mainstream media.
Social media is nothing but a visual of the race relations created by making a highway for racist to get their views from Incest Town, Alabama out to New York Twitter users

fair point but even then i don’t think things were as extreme then as they were now. im seeing more and more people being open about their ignorant s***

Bruh as a brown person trust me it was bad in the early 2000's
no, just made it more visible
wouldn't that then have the potential to make them better or worse? definitely not a neutral action to take localized feelings n broadcast them on the internet

yeah not saying s*** wasn’t f***ed up. it seems like now we’re more bombarded with racial attacks/ discrimination now
Social media exposed how bad race relations already are but in time it will help make them better

you may be right. idk how this would be measured. me personally though, i think it's better that these things are broadcasted to broaden the discussion
No lol. For those of us that actually deal with racism & such.
Its actually better believe it or not.
You are just more exposed to it thanks to a camera & internet connection.
You cant ignore it or write it off as isolayed incidents anymore, like how people would do when a story would pop up in the newspaper & tv.
It made many things more convenient but with that also come a new set of challenges. Wholly ignoring it isn't gonna fix a problem and the best way to approach a problem is to start dealing with it
Not sure but I think it has done more good than bad. Sure you can record racism and broadcast it to the world now, but that just makes other racists more aware that they are not alone and more bold to any on it. I dont think it has actually deterred any conflict.
people are forgetting about bots and fake news stories that make race relations even worse
The idea of Race relations is a myth.
Can’t speak for other countries but it doesn’t exist in the US.
