i’d say IX, IV, and VII are all great games and good intros to the series

XV and the 3 XIII games (especially XIII-2) are pretty underrated

Just play final fantasy x and call it a day. Or play that 7 remaster.

Similar question, should I play VII remake if I never played the original? I heard it’s not as indepth storywise as the original but the combat in the remake looks a lot funner than turn based imo

xv is kinda beginner friendly, but it plays very differently from the others so idk

If you want turn-based: VI, VII, VIII, IX

If you want more modern: X/X-2, XII, XV, VII Remake

4, 7, 9, X, 13, and XV are all u really gotta play
The others are cool but time has either made the story feel mid or the combat gets annoying

Start with X.
Soundtrack and story legendary.

Or

Play VII
with mods for graphics.

Then play XV because the game with dlc is pretty dope and there’s also a movie which was amazing and there is an anime I haven’t watched.

7 and X and youre good

Final Fantasy 7 remake was sick first time every playing any final fantasy loved the story and aesthetic. Playing Final fantasy xv right now and loving but at second half of game and story is starting to get confusing

VII remake is just an essential game to play anyway so get on that

just look at the games on a surface level and start with the one that interests you the most. 4, 6, 7, 9, and 10 are all good starting points imo depending on how old school you like your games
