  • There's some s*** i wanna watch on Netflix (batman ninja, wolf of wall street) that isn't available in the US. After a little research I downloaded Windscribe on my phone. Works great, but now I'm trying to cast it to my TV with no luck. Tried setting up a virtual router with my laptop but I'm not very tech savvy and that didn't work. Anyone with any suggestions on how to solve my problem would be greatly appreciated! ✌

Update: ordered a USB c to hdmi cord from Amazon

  • dunno but get a paid vpn and pirate it

I signed up for Windscribe VPN premium. It works great, I'm just hoping to watch on TV rather than the laptop/phone

no idea how chromecast works but can you cast it from your laptop to your tv?

  • Does it work if you disable the VPN?

Normally I can just hit the cast button on my phone and it'll show up on the TV, but it doesn't work with the VPN since technically my phone is on a different network at that time. I'm trying to find a way I guess to have the VPN cover my whole network

Yup works without VPN. But then the Netflix page that I'm on says "not available in your country"

Can you create a wifi spot from your laptop and connect your chromecast to that. If youd do that you should be able to stream even if your using a VPN

Edit: Just read you probably already tried that. I don't know any other solution What went wrong with trying to do that?

So I tried creating a "virtual router" last night, but I must've f***ed up one of the steps. I created the new network, but I wasn't really sure what to do when I got to changing the properties. When I click on the created network is says no internet access

what if you run the vpn on your laptop and cast that to the tv (instead of using your phone)

Oddly enough, I can't find the option to cast on the laptop

I'm a mac user so I have to look up the wifi spot, get back to you for that. But can you stream the tab of your browser via the Chrome browser? The Netflix website doesn't show an icon in the webplayer if I'm correct

  • only way to do that ik of is with a router that supports vpns or setting up a wireless bridge
