Having an engineer is dope but I would learn the basics to get your s*** listenable without an engineer bc what happens if he’s not there? Then u just can’t release music?

These days it’s almost like a requirement to know basics in every aspect if you want to make it as an artist

100% agree, I’ve been telling myself I’m going to learn but I’ve been putting it off for mad long lol but I do like the idea of just not having to wait on anybody. Think I can put a decent vocal chain together but I feel like mixing is a whole different beast….

A huge part of mixing is the vocal chain, levels of vocals, and your actual vocal take

If you get good enough at each category you have to do minimum amounts of mixing when u make a song bc u just use presets that are already fire

It’s kinda like Pre-mixing in a way. It’s part of mixing but once u have a preset you don’t have to do any work u just load the preset

You still have to mix it after but a good preset and vocal take can reduce how much mixing you have to do drastically

If I were you I would go on YouTube and just find some presets to mess around with

If there's nothing unique about you, create something or just pretend to be the most ideal version of you that you can think of. Read books about marketing and social media. Learn SEO. Get people to help you write stuff that sticks.
