I'm not gonna say Black Lives Matter was the wrong name to pick for the movement, but it's one that's led to a lot of confusion due to simple semantics.
A lot of people read it as BLACK Lives Matter, as in, only Black Lives Matter. It's the word they place emphasis on which is why it's the word that got switched out for the alternative movement.
When in reality what it's meant to convey is that Black Lives MATTER. Which sadly needs to be a point of emphasis as black lives are treated by most institutions in this country as if they do not matter.
I don't know how you fix that but you can see a lot of hostility in the video is from people that have a fundamental misunderstanding of what the phrase means. Also a lot are just racist
