I'm realizing that as I get older I see the true future of how screwed our world is.
Most people born around the millennium did NOT grow up in a time where social media was so locked in to how it is now, younger people are now documenting their entire lives on it which is scary. Think about how much borderline pedo s*** is being posted on TikTok with no moderation and it being deleted. At least on other platforms this stuff was selectively gotten rid of.
This means that alot of these young people's careers are going to be absolutely F***ED in the future and it's scary.
Think about it: someone runs for a political spot and then BAM all of a sudden their nudes are dug up. People can use this s*** to blackmail now and it's insane.
As a personal story: I got rejected from a job because they saw a picture of me at a party drinking on facebook, I legit had that s*** private too. So it's scary to think about what's going on
Anyone else worried?
Feel like it’s more likely folks won’t care in the future. And i mean, a lot of OF girls are already making the equivalent of a normal job so they might not have to worry abt it

I'm not talking about that specifically. You'd be super surprised about how people get blackballed in professional careers. Stupid s*** that gets dug up of when they were 14 years old or whatever and suddenly their screwed.
But on the other hand, a lot of girls aren’t making anything tryna get thru covid, they could get f***ed
Did they inform you they saw the picture and that was the reason you were rejected? And what was the job?
wtf does the job really care if you drank one time?? that sounds so stupid
a company like that will not last long. they will run out of candidates if they don't want to hire anyone who's ever been to a party
Yes
!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDZigeZqrowI know I tried to embed the ''Is this a pidgeon'' meme but I failed
not a hot take when it’s accurate. although you gotta do something real dumb on tiktok to ruin your career

Yeah, I mean I guess it may have been public but they were worried about public image of employees.

bro got me lawl
Well this why tik tok stars at least are diversified why they do (music, vlogging, modelling etc) this is going to be no different when big vine migration happened some will became irrelevant and some will became staples in the entertainment industry

When these people are adults with careers hardly anyone who entered the workforce before the internet will still be around. Nearly everyone has blackmail online right now. The standard is going to have to change

Think about how many of those "#challenge" things are going to screw people over. Those are literally borderline p*** at this point.

True. Only real ones last I guess.
Yeah social media is definitely going to impact jobs which is bogus asf imo if the user isn’t being racist, homophobic or anything extreme. I get some companies care about their image but still, I don’t think it’s right. Nobody really should care about what you are doing if you’re not being a f***ing idiot or anything. Like rejecting you because they seen you at a party on Facebook like that’s normal s***.

Nah bro, I disagree.
Majority of people do not use social media for posting s*** to incriminate themselves.

yeah i know what you mean. saw a story a few days back about a kid who choked to death doing a tiktok challenge. i have tiktok but i mean i’m 20 and i know right for wrong. it’s just kids who have no parental guidance or have no respect for themselves who are in trouble.
