Is this a prediction thread?
Drake either recently retired or is about to and is in the last leg of his career, going out gracefully
retire at 35
Probably garbage
Man it’s like as the years go by we’re in a constant decline, I don’t think we’ll ever revisit the prime times
1. I hope so
2. Post trap?
3.
4. Agreed.
international rap definitely seems like the closest prediction, the rest of the world has so much stuff that we haven’t discovered yet
i don't know how that will happen unless someone drops a album which pulls the youth away from rap music
the chronic achieved this feat with rap
The Chronic made gangster rap go mainstream tho? But I wouldn’t mind Hip Hop taking sort of a backseat and becoming more of a self aware/serious genre again. Hip Hop is really the opposite of good art right now.
future is finally recognised as the true goat and he finally grows up and becomes a loving husband and dad

yeah thats what i meant the chronic was the album when rap became more popular then rock music for the youth
im hoping that hiphop makes an upswing towards a more positive communal mood generally ( in contrast to the whole sadboy doomer vibe of 2017+)

i think people on here are way more accepting of uk hip hop on here with plenty of american rappers cosigning them
i know here in australia asap ferg made music with onefour (a aussie drill group which is popular here)

I rather have Lil Tecca than Balls Batty and D*** becoming the face of hip hop
retire at 35
He said in the rap radar interview he changed his mind about that
also Hispanic rap/Hispanic will became even bigger with the growing influence across the world

Yep,I see,I don’t think there’s anyone really out there that’s album to drop a rock album on the level of some of the greats to help revive the genre. Too many kids these days like the idea of rock music and just make generic s***.
probably some good music and some bad music
hello future self 10 years from now when this thread gets linked on ktt3

its either way too generic indie rock which rips off the strokes or arcade fire or too experimental to get recognition (post brexit bands)
random thought but i’m picturing someone doing joey bada$$ 1999 type project but for early 2010s nostalgia, wild to think about
So many factors at play. If the genre is in the hands of kids born after 2000 it's not in good hands.
It definitely won't be in good hands when kids born after 2010 hit the scene.
I see street rap evolving into some form of stripped down electronic dance music. Think Baltimore/Jersey Club music
The drill beats are gonna continue to evolve and it'll just be electronic music essentially.
I can see Playboi Carti being the biggest artist in the game. Unless someone else comes along.

Yep,some imagine dragons type s*** lol. You can always tell their always copying some band from the past that’s way better than them.
Hip Hop hasn't had a truly experimental phase and I think that's where we will find some gold.
