he was rapping his ass off on Funeral

Yea but in terms of everything else it was ass, Wayne's projects always going to have stellar rapping but the beats and sonic quality keep getting worse and starting to get a bit unlistenable "Cough Cough Mama Mia"

I don't get how the most lyrically skilled rappers can't pick good timeless beats without the help of a producer like Hit Boy or Kanye, Like Nas last album was great because the beats help compliment the lyricism and create a satisfying album experience but on his projects that aren't reliant on a superstar producer have mid to garbo beats that hinder the quality of rapping

D6/R are classics and funeral is incredible though so it balances out
