I just want to rant a little bit about this, i'm halfway through the main campaign (just copped DLC as well) and this is already my favorite game of all time. I already know how to game ends and i know a whole lot of other stuff already, it's because i knew about the game and lore years before i attempted to play it for myself. I can't really even say that was a downside for me, it's not like there's a concrete story anyway so i'm glad i watched all these lore videos some time ago because i would have never picked this up otherwise
I'M IN LOVE MAN
This game was made for me! It's the most Lovecraftian game ever while totally having it's own identitiy. The Great Ones are SO interesting and scary. The world is oozing with atmosphere. The lore is amazing, layered and open to interpretation. And that F***ING soundtrack boy. F*** ME
So i was hesitant to pick this up for almost 2 years because of the notorious difficulty in FromSoft games. I'm the most casual of gamers. I play some Uncharted, play some open world games, all on easy/normal difficulty so yeah there was defenitly a huge learning curve at first, but i'm suprised at me conquering every new wall i bump into. It feels so SATISFYING
I just had to get this off my chest, i have never felt such strong emotions for a game in my life. This game already means so much to me. FINALLY a game that does cosmic horror justice. I can't think of a single game that nailed it like Miyazaki did for Bloodborne. THANK YOU FROM SOFT. I already know i'm gonna carry this experience with me for the rest of my life

Man you really did yourself a disservice by spoiling everything like you did
The reveal from a typical werewolf hunter style game to full on Lovecraftian Cthulu type gods is the best twist since KOTOR1. I remember my first play through running through with the cane because it looked cool trying to kill Amygdala with that weak ass s***
GOAT game. Gameplay GOAT. Those f***ing chalice dungeons leading up to the Pthumerian queen tho holy s***, so tough.

The cthulu s*** honestly didnt feel like a big twist the first time I played lol. It was Fromsoft so giant monsters and creepy s*** just seemed like a natural progression for the game. It's sick though.

Like i said i don't look at it that way because i would have NEVER picked this game up if i didn't peep those lore videos before. Which means i would have never played my now favorite game.
I never liked difficult games, and i was also aware of Dark Souls which was a RPG set in medieval times (which didn't excite me)
It wasn't until i found out about a video talking about the Great Ones and humanity trying to ascend to becoming gods that i immediately became interested
Just started a new playthrough after six months or so away from it, missed this s***. Gascoigne still the hardest boss for me

The from soft difficulty is overhyped. Yeah the games have a learning curve because you can’t approach them like similar games from the time period DS1 was released (like god of war).
Most of the difficulty can be overcome if you’re smart enough to upgrade your weapon.
Glad you got into the game tho hope to see you in Elden ring and every other fromsoft game from now on lmao they got you hooked

Gasxoigne?? You got the DLC? Cuz those bosses are OD. Or you ever explore the chalice dungeons? Bullshit bosses in there

Nah bro when you kill Rom and Cathedral Ward all of a sudden has those Amygdala monsters all over its wild. Or getting kidnapped by the body snatchers for the first time bringing you to Yahargul

I’ll def play through Dark Souls 1-3 and give Sekiro a try. Elden Ring looking fantastic, can’t wait
And i don’t think the difficulty is overestimated either, to a casual like me this is by far the hardest game i’ve ever tried. But it’s fair for sure, i’m not a good gamer but i can still (hopefully) beat this game so that’s cool
Only used 1 NPC summon so far (Vicar Amelia) and i probably could have finished her off solo

Those snatchers that kidnap you are SO scary f***kkkk i hate em
They are the toughest normal enemy for me so far
I’m at Shadows Of Yharnam now and the Forbidden Woods is scary, those snake parasite people are a big yikes, but i actually don’t think they’re that bad now that i know how to handle em

I was so proud when i finished Gascoigne cause i wasn’t actually stuck at him for long and i always heard how tough he was
The boss after him though... Blood Starved Beast. That was my first real wall
F*** he was annoying as s*** with his poison in the third phase
OP a real one, and the atmosphere in this game is actually the best thing ever, s*** sends you to another world
Gasxoigne?? You got the DLC? Cuz those bosses are OD. Or you ever explore the chalice dungeons? Bullshit bosses in there
Yeah bro for some reason (maybe I don't level up enough at the beginning) he's always my biggest wall. I think outta dlc Ludwig and orphan were biggest hurdles but by that point I was a high ass level

Godddd if only i could live in a Lovecraftian world where i could do a ritual to beckon the Moon Prescence so i can get stuck in a dreamlike plane for all eternity
OK not rlly but the aesthetic be hard as bricks

I just learned that Ludwig is actually the FIRST mandatory DLC boss
i'm finna get STOMPED tf OUT !

father g ain't hard, idk why ppl say that. you can parry him a bunch in human and then just use a saw weapon when he goes wolf
ludwig and kos were the biggest challenges for me, and ebrietas or whatever
