Idk. If you want to support small business you can just go outside nfs buy from them faster than Amazon can deliver
You can order from them and get it delivered 2-4 days later than amazon would
The only thing stopping you from supporting small business is your own patience
you lack self discipline. it’s only a mega corporation because of slaves to convenience like you. shopping on amazon is cool. but you’re not allowed to use it infinitely and complain about it.
i just dont buy that much so i never really used amazon like that
what i heard from ppl recently is that its gotten worse tho in terms of quality
like its turned into aliexpress and taoboa or some s***
that’s because people don’t know how to use the filtering options or order from a vendor who’s not even the official supplier

people shouldnt have to figure out how to not get scammed on a website like amazon

nah it’s actually gotten way worse tbh
not to mention they co-mingle inventory of the same product from different vendors so you dont rlly know what you’re getting
The variety is unmatched, Prime only 10 a month too?
I love Walmart also.
Only 10 a month??
Mine is 16?…
Last i checked it was 10 may be wrong tho
Student discount or something? I’m on a student discount and mine is 16.

They're so fetishized when in actuality they're just as bad sometimes worse. They don't call them "small business tyrants" for nothing lol.

Long response but f*** it, i cant sleep and im bored.
It has gotten noticeably worse over the past couple years, and not just because of fake reviews. I've noticed it and I barely ever use Amazon to buy things.
I still have Prime because I use Prime Video, but in recent years the amount of actually shopping I do on Amazon has gone down significantly, primarily because it's not as convenient most of the time. 99% of the things I need to buy or put on a list can be acquired from one of the many big box or general stores that are (at most) a 5 minute drive from me. And it's becoming increasingly common that Amazon's prices, even with free shipping, are the same or sometimes more expensive than in-person retail.
The only time I order things from Amazon are when I'm looking for a very specific item that isn't widely available.
Like when I was packing to move states last year, I wanted a certain kind of sticker label roll that can only be found for like $20 at Staples, but Amazon had it for $12.
Or uncommon types of screwdrivers or drill bits — iFixIt has nice stuff but extremely overpriced for what it is, and Ace Hardware doesn't even carry tri-wing, security, or pentalobes. But Amazon has a wide selection of both single tools and variety driver sets with those for much cheaper than most places, and good quality. However, I just found (and bought) a rare head set at Walmart the other day for $8, so I likely won't be going back to Amazon for this stuff.
All that is to say, whenever I have opened up Amazon to look for something specific, a lot of times the items search bring back results where the first dozen products or so are blatant knockoffs, fake/super cheap brands, or even the same product and brand 5 times in a row with minor changes to the item name to justify separate listings. A good example is I was looking a couple weeks ago to see if Amazon carried a certain Japanese pen, or something equal to it, and almost all my results were products with descriptions and titles that looked like they were shat out by an algorithm. This is also extremely common when searching for higher end notebooks/folders/binders/stationery.
It's like their store has been completely overrun with 3rd party no-name brands racing to crowd the market with their s***ty products that aren't even priced decently. I can look past the 5 Amazon Basics products being forced to the top of any search result, my brain has learned to just scroll by them without thinking about it. But the extremely suspect generic product listings from bullshit brands has made it a hassle for me to even browse Amazon for things, let alone buy something.
However, I will say that one thing Amazon has always been (and still is) reliable for are very specific and/or rare books from specialized fields/genres (particularly non-fiction). Which makes sense I guess, because they started as an online bookstore, and nowadays the bulk of their non-trending books are sold and shipped by 3rd party sellers or "used & new" people.
Every now and then I'll search for a hard to find book that I can't find on other book seller sites, and Amazon will have a listing for an outrageously high price (mostly cause its out of print or classified as an academic resource). But other than that, I own several hundred books and at least 1/3 of them I've gotten from Amazon sellers for a great price over the past decade.

That's not the only reason its a mega corporation
Student discount or something? I’m on a student discount and mine is 16.
Its 15 my bad, student discount is 7 and some change
That's not the only reason its a mega corporation
but-but it feels so good to blame individual people for how a multi-billion corporation with ties to the richest man in the world, the government and what have you operates! so simple but so satisfying! of course its not because of endless money and lobbying its because you cant stop buying screen protectors! f*** you right!!!
i recently moved into a new apartment and bought damn near everything from amazon.
other businesses seriously cant compete with the cost and convenience. i might notice that i need to order something random like a rack for my spice jars, i open up amazon and it’s delivered to my door the following day.
compare that to the alternative which is actually having to take time to travel to the store and pick out what you’re looking for. its just such a huge advantage for them.

If only these undisciplined sheep Amazon shoppers — or as I call them, "sheepers" — would stop bidding over who can give the company the highest and longest tax break every other year, and paying for half the internet to run on their cloud servers

Word, I honestly feel the same way
I ordered something and then 5 hours later I try to cancel it but it won't let me even though it's scheduled for delivery next Tuesday

Call or email support that is definitely an system error or something. Unless it was from a small business, they might have different return/cancel policies. Idk.
