Listen to how f***ing clean he sounds here. He still hypes the crowd up but he’s not stopping every minute to yell something or constantly interrupting himself singing a song, he checks on them every now and then but he’s mostly focused on singing. I f***ing LOVED his concert but I can’t help but wish I would have seen him when he was more focused on just putting on a great performance rather than constantly trying to engage with the crowd. Engagement is obviously good but it does affect his voice and the way he performs songs now

He sings much better now which is why it’s such a shame he thinks he has to stop and hype the crowd up every 10 seconds lol

by the time he does like 40 tour stops on this tour he'll be back to prioritizing singing. he's like that rn because of the hype and energy. when it dies down, it'll probably change.

    Yeah you’re probably right tbh

the nature of his music has evolved that's why, it used to be more downtempo

DAWNFM live is all about getting hype

  • Sep 18, 2022

I completely disagree. I've seen him for the first time during the Starboy tour and I loved it, thought he did such a great job as he hit all the notes and it sounded so awesome.
However, After Hours Til Dawn was special, this is him being a f***ing superstar. During Starboy he did seem insecure and had a dead stare into his eyes, not really engaging with the crowd.. now he has the complete control of everybody in the arena. He interacts with them however he wants to, he feels secure and knows he's putting on a f***ing great show, I feel like he enjoys it more as well.
Also you can't really compare the setlist as his old music tends to be slower and now there is more uptempo in his list.

I was blown away back then during Starboy, but this time it feels even better, such another level. Iconic and I think he finally mastered putting up a fully complete show.

I seen him in Atlanta, he shouts out the city he’s in like 30 times during the set and he’s constantly screaming or doing something to hype the crowd up lol. He engages with the audience a lot

Saw him in Chicago I mean he talked to us some like "is chicago louder than ____" " Thankful for selling out the stadium " "goodnight" but he actually didn't scream too much our show. I watched some of the footage of other shows and he screamed more but I mean saying a city name isn't really worth it interaction for me.

You dont need to scream s*** continuously to hype a stadium

  • Sep 25, 2022

Anyone ever see bands live? I grew up going to blink 182 concerts, stuff like that.. one thing I feel like is lacking in rap/R&B is banter with the audience. Sometimes they’re just plowing through songs and it just feels kinda stiff and uptight

You reminded me that footage from a Michael Jackson concert, where he gets on stage, refuses to elaborate, and fans lose their s*** lol

The stadium tour was incredible from all ends. Coachella 2018 was cool, but this 2015 Coachella performance is my absolute favorite form him.

I've been to 7 Coachellas and it was just so God damn appropriate. U are valid sir.

It’s that setlist man I love the emotion in his voice at 2018 Coachella but I come back to 2015 all the time
