Would both albums benefit?
Makes no sense why Usher put a crunk song on his album and Lil Jon has a R&B song on his album
All I know is they’re both 10/10 songs definitively
Personally I like Lovers & Friends more but both are great songs. L&F fits the theme of Confessions better than Yeah does

How
The entire point of Yeah is how he got caught up one night and cheated.
Lovers & Friends was one of the major moments back in the all night skate days. When that song came on, 9 times outta 10 my middle school fingers were about to get wet.

It's just my opinion nobody said you had to agree
"Sometimes wanna be your lover
Sometimes wanna be your friend"
Lovers & Friends was a good addition to Lil Jon album bc it showed he can attack other styles and it’ll work. Plus Usher, Jon, and Luda developed a reputation with Yeah so they could’ve easily tried the same thing, especially bc it was for Jon album. They came with something less predictable which was cool
Same with Usher. On paper it’s kinda weird to have a Lil Jon produced track as the first single for an R&B album but clearly it worked. Confessions was a traditional R&B album and Yeah gave it that extra edge imo
Jon’s album might have benefited but Yeah was huge for Usher and an essential part of Confessions

I’m just asking how do you think it fits better.

It's R&B Yeah! is too crunk for Confessions

Definitely true. Probably why it’s the opener.

Most likely but I don't think it should be after the intro

A lot of bad decisions start with events that at the time feel really fun and you're all about getting lost in the moment.
"Yeah!" goes with Confessions perfectly cause of that — it's like going out on a Saturday and getting blackout drunk with friends, having the time of your life, not caring about the consequences of anything.
And then "Throwback" comes right after and hits you like waking up Sunday morning with the worst hangover, not remember half of what you did last night, not even knowing where you are at the moment. And then going through the rest of the day being forced to face the consequences of things you did when all you wanna do is just lay in bed until you feel better.
"If I could rewind the time and get inside your mind
I would take back all my words
I didn't see it
I couldn't see what I was doing
See I was blind and I wish I could try
To be the man that you deserve
Give me one chance to make it work"

From a technical standpoint that is all correct but I still feel like Confessions 1 & 2 are the songs where he really addresses the issues. Yeah! sets the tone. If I could've sequenced the tracklist, I would've done Intro>Confessions 1>Confessions 2>Yeah!>and the rest
I think Confessions 1 & 2 before Yeah would be better because he's telling us about the chick on the side, but where did she come from? He explains meeting her at the club and being caught up on Yeah!. Confessions 1 would've been a stronger album opener imo

Wait, why would it make more sense to put the story of meeting her after the songs where she calls him and then he narrates the story about getting her pregnant?

That's my whole point because we'd question how he met this chick and I feel Yeah! after both Confessions would hit harder.
