It's a tie between Dilla and Madlib.

Madlib is a better overall producer, but Dilla had the greatest ear in all of hip-hop. His ability to pick out samples was beyond human.

    Impeccable is an understatement.

He had people like Questlove and Q-Tip absolutely blown away by his raw talent. It was like he was born to touch an MPC.

Madlib is the dark to Dilla's light

  • I'd say RZA as a curator was his greatest quality. He didn't produce the majority of Supreme Clientele, but you can tell he had his fingerprints all over it compared to the other Wu-Tang releases after Wu-Tang Forever.
