@Skiofficial Thank you again, and double thanks for the follow! It felt like 20 pages wouldn't be enough of a taste to get people invested in some random guys comic, but 50 is a good rounded number to flesh out the character and narrative, and get to a good starting point for chapter 2, that would otherwise take 3 chapters to get to. I've been thinking of maybe making a 50 page release schedule every 3 months, but thats TBD.

FRIDAY UPDATE: The first 50 STORY BEAT DRAFT IS COMPLETE! Except it ended up being 53, to pace everything comfortably. Exciting to start the posing phase!

Anyway I’ve completed up to page 30 of my panels, and with some luck I’ll complete the last 23 tomorrow and get started on my poses Tuesday. Here’s a close up of one of my rough draft pages.

50 pages is cool, but 20 would be too. I’m not super into comics but I’ve seen artists put out 1-2 pages at a time and then release it for print at the end, could be a cool way to start building your audience earlier and keep your motivation up

WEDNESDAY UPDATE: I've been doing some thinking from @the_govenment s post, and I think I have a proper gameplan in mind. I've finished out blocking all 53 pages of panels, so I think I'm going to start finishing two pages of dry art a day, which will take me 26 days, and set me at 62 days, or 60 should unforseeable circumstances arise and get pushed back. From here I'll have 60 days to digitize and finalize each page, which will give me an entire day per page to make sure everything looks the way I want it to. Its going to be super f***ing hard on my 10 hour work days, but I know I can make it happen.

I could drop two pages a day as a build up, its not a bad idea. I just like the idea of a big rollout too much.

WEDNESDAY UPDATE PART 2: Yeah, nah, I'm in big trouble. This took me all day to finish between a 2 hour break and another 2 hours of running errands. I had to redo the second page from scratch because the original was in reverse order, and the big panel looks better on the bottom.
And maaaan I had to HUSTLE to make the city background, y'all have no idea how hard that was since I f***ing loathe drawing backgrounds I'm fairly happy how they turned out, but there's no possible way I'm gonna be able to complete 2 full pages every day after a 10 hour shift of work yo. I'm gonna have to figure something else out or get used to pulling all nighters.

FRIDAY UPDATE: Okay, so here's the new gameplan: 2 pages a day is very doable on my days off, but not feasible after a work day - but the due date remains of ~50 pages on May 7th. So I've decided: I'm going to 'star' the panels of importance that need the attention, and all the others will be second priority.

In all the pages I've completed so far, I obviously much prefer the ones that were drawn to completion, but I rather dislike the "mid" panels that I feel like I spend too much time on and still don't come out very well. I'm going to need to develop a faster chicken scratch style that I can use on my second priority panels that also look decent enough.

SUNDAY UPDATE: I missed Fridays update due to some very stressful living rearrangements, so I want to apologize for that. I thought about updating on Saturday, but I wanted to keep it exclusive to the designated days instead.

Here’s a couple pages. I’m 22/52 rough draft pages complete.

WEDNESDAY UPDATE: This is as far as I could get with on digitizing one page in one day. I am in serious f***ing trouble. High key wish I never started this time limit thing, but I’m too far in to back out now. Not gonna look good if I don’t deliver. Dayum.

also take extra time if you need, having a hard date is nice but u don't want the time limit to impact the quality yknow

FRIDAY UPDATE: Here's a major update to the page I posted yesterday. Way better, but still far from complete.

Thank you for this. I'm kind of in a dilemma for whether I want to delay the date to complete the 50 pages to satisfaction, or stay firm on the date and limit it to 50 pages... but I'm kind of leaning towards the former. Gonna feel really lousy about doing either one though...

Its looking f***ing dope, bro. I say just keep the date for now, ane see how close you can come to completion by the date you set for yourself. Be proud of your accomplishments no matter the end result.

Then if you feel like you need extra time to bring your full vision to fruition, give yourself that time. Ultimately, you don't have a huge base to please yet. No one's gonna judge you for pushing it back in order to make it better. This is more a story of personal achievement. Those of us following this are more interested in seeing this comic come to life as you envision it, as opposed to seeing it on that exact date.
