Look under any tweet from ChartData about Drake’s stats and under that tweet you have Profile pics of Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, BTS, etc. disrespecting Drake in some way
I say this because people try to box Drake in as a “Pop Artist” instead of a Hip Hop artist and while he’s simultaneously both, his music clearly appeals more to a Hip Hop Audience
Obviously there are some old heads that still don’t love Drake, but for the most part the Hip Hop community Respects Drake’s songwriting abilities and even acknowledge that he can really rap when he wants to. When Drake drops, the entire Hip Hop community is tuned in. Not so much the Pop community, it just doesn’t seem that way because the Hip Hop community has grown so big and it’s the most popular genre right now.
Just something I noticed.
I’m not even trying to be funny, pop stans on Twitter are just inherently racist

It wouldn't surprise me if it's more jealousy than anything.
Drake is hip hop so not really surprising. All the music he makes is some sort of black music expression too
Haters just use “pop” as a way to discredit him
I mean it’s not even “ironic”.
Drake dabbles in Pop/crossover music, but overall, his brand has always been mainly Hip-Hop.
He is not Nicki who ran and sold all the way out doing David Guetta hits for a decade, nor a Post Malone who conveniently became a figure for white soccer dads to bond with their sons to.
Drake was smart in when he “went Pop” with Views, he used that gained star power and hype to go back into mainly doing Hip-Hop in 2018 to present. He didn’t pull a Nicki/Post/etc and take that as an invitation to go even further into Pop and alienate Hip-Hop. It ultimately definitely helped him maintain his legacy as being seen as a rapper foremost.
Non Hip-Hop fans really only have 2 or 3 Drake hits they can rock with, otherwise they have to tolerate him dominating with 100 other songs they can’t relate to and would never like. To them he ultimately remains a “trashy black rapper”.

It’s both. They’re racist towards rappers, jealous of his success and want him to collaborate with their fav artists for chart success all at the same time

I agree that they want him to collaborate with their favorite artist for some chart success. They will change their tune instantly for it. Pun intended.

Ariana fans, Bieber fans, Taylor fans, Selena Gomez fans, you name it. They all want Drake to work with their faves.

Drake ain't dabbled in "pop" the way a Kendrick has collaborating with Taylor swifts, Maroon 5s etc. Everything he does is some sort of pure black music (rnb, dancehall, hip hop etc)
He don't do no electronic bs
