I was looking at the Samsung Neo G7 and the Sony Inzone M9 but then I started thinking, what do I need either of these for? All I need is something that gives me 60hz with good HDR, I could get something like the Hisense U7K or the TCL Q7 at 65” cheaper than either of these monitors and not break the bank. If all I play is RPGs and Action-Adventure games is a monitor really worth it? What’s your opinion?

That depends on its size and how big the room you're in. If it's a big room then nah pick a TV instead... But if it's a small-medium room then go with a 32" monitor tbh.

I’ve got a pretty small room tbh. I have a 55 inch tv in there right now and it honestly looks huge because it’s so close to me, it’s a 1080p though so it looks like s*** with it being that close to me lol. That was part the reason I wanted to get a monitor, a higher resolution at a cheaper price than a tv and I wouldn’t have to worry about it taking up space. Then I started doing research and found out if you want HDR that doesn’t look horrible you damn near have to spend as much if not more than a tv anyways

Well then... So is the question how much are you willing to spend on a monitor or TV?

$750-800 is my max
Going from 60hz to 144hz is a massive leap trust me. I literally just stared at my desktop clicking s*** and moving my mouse for hours when I first got my upgrade from 1080p 60hz to 1440p ultrawide 144hz lol
Factors like IPS, OLED, refresh rate, resolution, etc play a big part on how good s*** looks on your screen. Only you can really set the budget but I highly recommend, at minimum, getting a 1440p 144hz IPS screen. Ultrawide is a lot of fun, OLED looks incredible, but it's up to you to spend more at that point.
HDR is also a total gimmick unless you have OLED and a very high resolution. Genuine HDR support is sparsely supported for gaming as of rn

I have a PS5, I can’t play above 120hz anyways lol. Most of the single player games that I play can’t even achieve 120fps, they’re stuck at 60fps

Then yeah it sounds like you're going to get a 55" TV and if possible an OLED one with that price then... And make sure that it has HDR-10, VRR, 120 Hz which means its HDMI should be the 2.1 one and make sure it's 48 GBPS and not under that which a TRUE HDMI 2.1 port on the TV should have whether it's eARC HDMI 2.1 port or just a regular HDMI 2.1 port.
So I would say whether it's a TV or monitor so should it be a good one so you don't feel like buying another one if you're planning to get a PS5 Pro in late 2024 or later on

Ohhhh my bad, I thought you were picking up a monitor for a PC setup.
Can't help much then tbh. Most of my advice still applies outside of refresh rate, especially factoring in OLED, but again it depends on how much you're willing to pay for a monitor

MiniLED FALD HDR >>>>>>>>
I got a 27inch 1080p 60hz HDR regular ass s*** by todays standards and it still looks beautiful I don't really need more
99% of games are capped 60fps anyway just buy something sub $300 you don't need to overdo it
A second monitor is always worth it
For anything.. especially if u multi task on ur PC outside of gaming

Get a 34in ultrawide
Alienware 34 inch QOLED HDR1000 for $800
32 Inch 1440p is ideal for me when it comes to a compromise of fast response & cinematic feel for single player and multiplayer games

PS5 doesn’t support 21:9 unfortunately

Some ultrawides (like this one) downscale console input to achieve a greater resolution than 2560 x 1440 for the output via Console Mode, but yeah it definitely works better as a PC monitor
